In Nebraska, Husker football reigns supreme—almost to the point of religion. All other sports, meh... and as a former Husker swimmer, I should know. The challenge was to build excitement around the under-appreciated, (and usually under-preforming) basketball program. In one of those "Client is coming in tomorrow, and we've got zip (they didn't say "zip")" challenges, I went to Duffy's Tavern, had a beer or two and coined “Nebrasketball” on a bar napkin. It initially created a buzz with players and fans alike, and has since taken on a life of its own, and a place in the vernacular of sportscasters, supporters, trends on Twitter and has found new life on social media.
